Squadron: Escadrille 1ere
Aircraft: Nieuport 17
AircraftStatus: destroyed
TimeIn: -1 hour
Claims: shot down by #11 alb
narrative: saw a fight east of me behind hun base #12. I headed that way and could make out 4 planes. I saw One head west while the other three kept moving about below me. Wasn't sure what was going on and I was hesistant to dive in since I was alone. Only Rogier had showed up for Esc1 patrol flight and he had engine troubles and had to rtb.
I saw some more tracers below and realized an allied plane was in a 2 vs 1. I dove in and came up behind a #15. He seemed to already know I was there before I had even fired at him. He kept up in a turning climb as I tried to manuver behind him. I got a few pot shots at him, but couldn't do any damage with my one gun. His partner showed up and began hosing me. It seemed the allied plane I had dove in to help had vanished, possibly shot down. I dueled with the two for a couple more minutes when 14? dove away for the nearby hun base. I assumed he was out of ammo. I fought with 15 some more, I couldn't do any real damage to him. He kept diving away everytime I had him in my sights and my small stream of lead seemed to do little damage to him.
I saw another plane coming in from the hun base. He began firing from extreme range. I pulled up from my pursuit of 15 and began heading west for friendly territory. I had seemingly left the huns behind when #11 dove in on me from above and behind. I tried to avoid his attacks, but to no avail. He quickly chewed off my right elevator and my rudder. My plane slid sideways and tumbled out of control to the ground below.

Squadron: Escadrille 1ere
Aircraft: Nieuport 17
AircraftStatus: ok
TimeIn: 1 hour+
Claims: Hun 2-seater #8
narrative: Enemy 2-seater #8 was spotted leaving our side of lines at a low altitude. I dived on it and after numerous bursts it caught fire as it was forced down on their side of the lines. [EA forced down, on fire approximately 10:12est. I was booted (flame boot?) before confirmation.]

TimeIn: 1 hour+
Claims: Hun 2-seater #8
narrative: Took off with Colt and Cudden to escort bomber. Met a lone bomber and went into hunland. Lankvil was doing a good job avoiding AA, but I could feel the huns around. He bombed a RailYard and then I saw a puff of smoke that would have had to be from an enemy plane. We started the return trip. I was several hundred feet above Colt and Lankvil, while Cudden was several hundred feet above me. I saw Colt fire a short burst, I flew down to help. Lost sight of Colt, but was still locked on Lankvil. We continued to fly toward our base, then Lankvil meched out. I refueled and capped our targets without seeing any action.

PilotStatus: ok
Squadron: Escadrille 5me
Aircraft: Nieuport 17
AircraftStatus: ok
TimeIn: 1 hour+
narrative: Due to lack of como do to cut lines I was unsure of mission orders. Arrived at new drome and promptly found my scout and took to the air. The air was clean and crisp and had one sighting at very high alt and headed other direction to gain some but lost contact.
Patrolled the front and later found two more contacts but had alt on them and investigated. It was one of my scouts and a recon. I joined up and followed the group home.
Rest of night was calm and clear with no additional sightings. Report End. McQuerry Out!

AircraftStatus: damaged
TimeIn: -1 hour

Squadron: Escadrille 6me
Aircraft: BE2c
AircraftStatus: ok
TimeIn: -1 hour
Claims: None
narrative: Took off as scheduled. Flew NE according to plan, in loose formation with Strutter. Saw second Strutter leave base late. Turned towards recon targets at little village and bridge due east of Bierne. Engine gave up the ghost. We drifted in for a safe landing and hopped a lorry back to base.
There was only one old Be2b left in the hanger. Engine so worn that it would not lift the plane off the runway. Engine sputtered out and we rolled into the tall grass.
Climbed out and called it a day. When will we get those fine new Re8's I wonder?

Claims: Slight damage to RR, shot down Aviatik #19
narrative: Sortied and met up with escorts. Proceeded toward target but in route I spotted the glint of sunlight off the 3 sets of Hun wings. Diverted but flak gave us away. Made run at secondary target but only time for one pass. Hit was close to building and I think I did light damage to it but could not confirm as Huns were in area and not happy about our presence.
Escorts provided cover and long chase ensued. Escorts engaged and I winched as I saw #14 go down, but his sacrifice allowed #10 and myself to escape.
We met up with a #15 from another squadron and proceeded to try another pass at the target. Unfortunetly, the hard chase had worn my engine and I had to return to base quickly (mech'd and had to reboot to get back in).
Waited my five mintues while the mechanic finsihed beating my engine into submission and took off again in the hopes that I might sneak by the Huns. As I crossed over No Man's Land I spotted a spek moving against the green. Not wanting to chance it I turned for home leaving the unknown aircraft behind me. On the way I spotted a speck at my alt coming from the Allied side of the lines and moved to intercept as I thought it might be one of our escorts. Perhaps he would lead me to the target.
As we approached he did not give the pre-arranged signal and upon closer approach I realized it was a Hun R/B plane (#19, Aviatik I think)! I attacked and a rather slow battle began but I managed to get the upper hand. I peppered his aircraft with many shots and finally heard him yell in pain as a shot hit him. Not enough to kill him but he was hurt and his engine sputtering. Realizing I had drifted far over enemy lines I turned for home.
Just before reaching No Man's Land I heard the sound of another engine and made a break while desparately searching for the source of the noise. I was able to find it better when the first bullets hit. My gunner fired but I was unable to tell if I had scored hits.
I ran for home with a few close calls on hitting the ground. I almost made it across NML when a last burst by my opponent broke my prop and wounded me as well. I landed some 200-300 yards short of our lines.
The troops tried to retrieve me but couldn't. I could not escape due to my broken legs and bullet wound. A Hun patrol captured me and took me to a hospital. As soon as I am able I will try and escape. I heard the artillery smashed my plane but I also heard one of the guards say I had brought down the Aviatik #19.
