narrative: Took off on escort mission with #2Rogier. We escorted 2 of our B/R planes #19,#20. We were heading out over the mud when Rogier left formation with
a bad engine. 19 and 20 pressed on so I had to as well.
Couple minutes later almost over nml I spotted 3 hun planes about co-alt north of us. 19 was way out of formation and very low to the northeast while I was directly
over 20. I watched with great interest as the huns kept heading west. They did seem to turn towards us for a second, but I wasn't sure. 20 Turned to the southwest
and I soon lost sight of them. 19 had also dissappeared from view. I stuck with 20 and watched over him as he completed his mission. The flight home was quiet
with no more hun sightings.
Back at base, I took off with B/R#17 and escorted him. We picked up Esc5's #16 and now had 2 escorts. It was a long quiet trip to the target and back. 17
completed his mission and was escorted back to base safely to complete the day.

narrative: #17 went down trying to attack me killed trying to belly land with no gear lost plane
Took off ~30 minutes late due to mechanical problems. Capped our targets without contact for some time. Then met
several allies. I was getting closer to them to pull into formation then heard/saw enemy diving on me. I tried to find
my friends to dive toward them, but lost contact. Tried to dive away from my attackers. Got hun #17 to loose a wing and
crash. Three more huns were all over me. Had a collision with hun #18 that cost me my landing gear. Tried to belly land
and caught on fire just as getting close to ground. Landed and flipped.

Claims: 3 reconned targets
narrative: Cpt. Royce that "spunky" recon flyer from Esc 6 successfuly reconned three targets on three separate sorties.
There numbers and photo's will be sent to HQ in different attached mail.
After the third sortie into Hun territory, Cpt Royce somewhat shaky from the three flights, headed for the mess tent
and a few shots of good highland single malt.

Squadron: Escadrille 6me
Aircraft: BE2c
AircraftStatus: ok
TimeIn: 1 hour+
Claims: Photographed two assigned targets
narrative: Dead mouse in the carburateur of the be2c kept us from lifting off on schedule, so we missed our escorts at
the rendevous. Chose to fly due south to avoid Hun patrol paths. Cut east and flew over and reconned the assigned target
with no contact. Even with long and safe route, max altitude for be2 was 2400 meters by the time we reached target. 4000
meters would require trip to St. Petersburg! Turned and flew home dead straight and in shallow dive, bringing speed up
to 84kph! 55 minutes total elapsed time. We were frightened by the sound of three crates flying west near our base, then
we saw that it was a strutter and two n17's.
Strutter pilot had completed his bombing run. Last seen with a bottle of white headed off the field towards the
village. I BEGGED the CO to let us have the strutter for our next mission, but no dice! We apparantly are lacking in rank
or status. The two scouts took pity on us and reassured us that they would provide escort over and back. Unlike many other
movie makers, these two hung with us, staggering back and forth as they tried to "keep up" with our be2 as we struggled
for some airspace. 100kph all the way over to the target drome, which we thoroughly reconned, snapped some good photos,
and lurched home under the reassuring wings of the Scouts 1 and 16.
Very good day. Mission fully accomplished, friends made, 2400m reached, and I think we had the crate up over 100 mph
as we dove for home on the final leg.
Please, lord, let the Re8's be everything the factory man promised us!!!

Claims: bomb damage on drome and depot
narrative: Took off from base and made contact with friendly Be2C(#19) and escorts(#1 and ???) at appointed location.
Proceeded to first target for bomb run. Noticed Be2C drifting NE and signalled him to rejoin. He must not have seen it.
I spotted 3 dots in the sun and could see #19 heading their way. Having no way to signal him I reluctantly turned S and
hoped I had not been seen. I noticed one of my escorts stayed with me and the other was not to be seen. I presume he had
engine trouble or if 19 was lucky had followed him.
I made it to target and after a couple of passes managed to damage a hangar and one orange top building. Proceeded to
secondary target. It was a depot with many small huts that were hard to spot from 3000 meters. I lined up for the middle
and made several passes dropping my remaining 6 bombs into the middle of the depot.
With the last two hits I saw [damage] from at least 3 of the huts as they were close enough to my hits to take damage.
I turned for home and #1 followed. We had no more contacts.
Near my home base #1 did experience engine trouble and had to make an emergency landing and I landed uneventfully.
#17 Be2C was at the base and indicated his sortie was successful too. I was happy to be home safe but mourned the loss
of my comrade.
