narrative: First Sorties ran into number 6 and number 7 hun 2 seaters, but 6 meched and i ran out of ammo before finishing
number 7.
Rearmed and went back up, and again i found #7, except this time he went down in flames.
Later in the game ran into my #6 and 2 esc5 spads, saw one of them force down #4 over the front, then hit the ground
himself. Then me and #6 forced down his wingman, #5 i think. Then we got pounced by 2 more hun scouts, #18 and one more
of theirs. I ran out of ammo, and had to rtb, leaving #6 behind. i tried to get his attention telling him i had to RTB
and that he should try to make a run for it. I don't think he heard me, because he never came back to the drome. I hope
that he survived and will come back to fly with us again

narrative: Staff car broke down , got to the AF 10 mins late, no one at feild took off and headed north east to cap
our targets. Sirens went off but didn't see anything, soon they stoped so i headed south and soon heard the faint sounds
of sirens again , started to circle to determine the direction of the sounds... while looking about I saw two D3s
diving at me almost in gun range, did evasive manuvers and headed for the AF below ... D3s made a few passes and
I took a few hits before i reached the safety of our AF, I landed and the d3s straffed me , then # 17 in a d3 took
some AA Hits and started to flame; the other D3 flew off... the rest of the night patrolling was quiet

narrative: Arrived on field 10 minutes late so I missed my assigned patrol. I flew over some installations then flew
to hunland and patroled the edge of the mud. Saw nothing the whole time.
Second Patrol I headed for rendevous point and met up with #13 and #1 for escort mission. Shortly into it #13 had
engine trouble. I debated on continuing, but figured what the hell. Half-way to target I saw what I believed was friendly
dive towards #1. He flew off a short time later.
We continued on and just about over the mud and into hunland I spotted another plane diving on #1. I feared this was
a hun and sped to the rescue. Quickly determined it was friendly since he did not fire on #1. Overflying the con I could
make out the Paint of one of our spads. The two of us now continued the escort of #1 to his assigned target.
The area seemed clear as our two-seater got to his work. Soon he turned back for our lines and I headed out with him.
Glancing behind me I spotted maybe 3-4 planes. 3 perhaps were co-alt with me, another was slightly higher. I Think my
fellow spad played with them some to get there attention off of the two-seater. I put myself between the huns and #1.
One or two seemed to be following, but weren't in any hurry to catch up to us. I watched at least 1 con follow us out
over the mud then lost sight of him. We headed back for base, on the way I spotted another friendly plane #5 and one
more low con that couldn't be identified. #1 and I landed safely at base.

narrative: I started late and flew solo patrol with out any EA contacts. I was booted for out of sync just before
10pm and again at 11pm.

narrative: flew assigned route, had intermittant contact/combat with 3 albs from J18, after awhile we lost contact.
a bit later my wingman and i found alb #2 down low an attacked him, i put a number of long bursts into him, he eventually
pulled off his top wing and in the process of trying to land was killed by my wingmen #19. a short while later i meched.
on my second flight i met up with several of our spads over nme territory, we stumbled onto a mixed flight of albs from
j18 and j27, we had intermittant battle, at one point i dove on #4 and put a good burst into him, then dove away to get
alt, instead i saw a spot away and below me low over nomansland i dove down and then saw two contacts, the first was my
wingmen, the second was enemy #5 he was over the middle of nomansland heading into our territory at about 100 ft. We both
attacked him and did great damage to his machine, at some point nme #4 showed up behind me and fired a few rounds into me,
i continued to manuevre to keep myself in behind #5 at some point #4 must have ran into me from behind (or Below) my only
visable damage was a lost rudder plane but it was enough for me to lose all control of my plane and crash, in the
collision nme #4 lost his prop among other damage, we both went down in the middle of nomansland near our forward
trenches still heading towards our lines. Im unaware as to what happened to my wingman, and enemy #5. end of report

narrative: War Department Report:
Two Spads were seen to seperate and Kill an enemy craft along the front. The fabric bore the number 2 on the upper
wing. This was later confirmed by the pilots in question when they returned to base for fuel and ammo.
However, It is with deep regret that I report that later on a mysterously colored hun craft was flying low across the
front and for some reason yet unknown appeared to stop in mid air- This was the undoing for the brave Spad pilot in 19
for his plane desintegrated and was gone.

narrative: Pretty successful night for old #1.
Took off at 9:00 PM from aero trailing #7, whom I soon lost sight of. Crossed mud and recc'd first tgt and then
proceeded to 2nd and third tgt with flak ringing in my ears all the way. After final recc turned for home. Kept my eyes
scanning the skies above me the entire way. Halfway over mud I had the crap scared out of me when I did not see but heard
a plane closing on me fast. Jerked my plane in every direction and practically sprained my neck trying to find the other
plane. Luckily it was #14 of the allies heading east for more recon. Later realized how lucky I was when I got back to
the aero and was later informed that the huns had shot down #14. There but for the grace of God go I. Landed back at
aero and met up with #13 who was just getting his plane rearmed and refueled when #15 in a spad landed at our aero.
We all took off with 15 as our escort but less than halfway there 13 developed engine trouble and had to turn back.
Proceeded to head towards target and met up with 18 in his Spad VII. Approaching target 15 closed up with me to report
3 EA circling low. I managed to see only one of them but took his word for it. Shot pic of aero and then developed
mechanical trouble when the bomb release collapsed releasing my full compliment on the aero, damaging
one hangar. The bombing was inadvertent :) but I still took a pic of it for my photo collection. Just off to the left,
out of the frame is a very angry hun mechanic waving his rag at me and I think telling me that Belgians are #1, or he
was pointing out my plane number with a single finger. Turned west and headed back with 15 keeping an eye on the EA.
By 15's movements I could tell he could see something to our rear so when I felt safely over our own territory I put
the Strutter into a shallow dive to put some distance between me and the Heinies. Landed safely at our aero and
turned in film for development.

I wound up alone. Took photos of every target on my route! Then...right after the last photo, (I swear) I did something
wrong and my camera ate the film! I returned to base without a scratch or any photos.
