narrative: Took off early today to have a test run of the engine- ran well, flew up to the front and back.
During the session, I suffered repeated mechs- must be those British carburators or the French magnetos. My squad
mates said it'd be best to give it up and go to the tavern-which I did.

narrative: Grass was green, the sun was warm, them pesky huns mustve been flying in a schwarm.... we looked over here,
we looked over there, but all we could see was the hazy french air... they were not low, they were not high, they were
not anywhere in the bright blue sky... so we called it a flight, and returned to our base, with visions of huns crashed
all over the place. end of report.... Amen.

narrative: Took off with my flight. at the planned meeting point, #10 and # 4 both had engine troubles and returned to
base. I hooked up with the Spads of Esc 5. 1 of then returned to base. Me and #19 and #20 spotted 5 cons low. Latter they
were joined by 4 cons a little higher. we decided to rtb. On the way back we ran into a lone alb. it was #18. I followed
him down, firing at him, as #19 and #20 switched off firing at the alb, The alb landed, when we continued to straff him
till his plane was severely damaged. We then rtb.
On the next patrol we had 4 spads, and me and #10 in HD1s. One of the spads veered off early in the flight, and then
another later. then #10 returned because of engine problems again. I lost contact with the rest of the spads and had no
other contacts for the rest of the night

narrative: Took of with squad on assigned mission and was just approaching rendevous area when I was hit with
mechanical problems. Took off again later and tried retracing my steps. Ran into #16 and we flew mission together
over assigned waypoints. We saw neither enemy nor friendly A/C. Later we crossed back into friendly territory and
landed at XXXXX.
we regrouped and began a second sortee across the mud. Late into the second sortee I had engine problems again and
had to return to base. It was late in the day so I decided to pack it in.

narrative: While on patrol with machines from Esc1 and Esc5, my engine conked and I returned to XXXXX for repairs. I
then tried to regain contact with patrol, but found Dawson not far from base. We patrolled with out event and returned to
XXXXX, where other scouts soon joined us. Second patrol also failed to spot any enemy machines.

narrative: First Sortie , lost half of our flight to mechs, we continued on and found a couple of groups of Huns. At
one point I counted 9 EA craft below split alts ....The first group took us out of bounds below Base 52 thne turmned
north. MC went in for a better look when I spotted the other 4 ,a t or around his alt... that was when I decided to
scram and go home.... I circled back for Fergie and found MC still below him. Now this # 18 Hun we forced down, I dont
no if he was alone or with the second group, any way Fergie spotted him and we attacked, forced him down .... I herd
Fergie give him a real good sqirt ... This pilot was good he tried to get above Fergie and I let him have a couple of
little sqirts from a pee shooter. then he headed for the deck. The 3 of us raked his plane for a little while and
the RTB. Met the rest of the guys at another base. Took Off after a refuel, we had 6 planes in the flight now.
4 spads and a pair of HD1s. Somewhere around Base 19 I spotted a dote UNnoun. I dicided to take a look and found it to
be a NP 17 #4 we patroled but never made contact with the rest of the squad. RTB end of the session.

narrative: Formed up with rest of group and bad gas or something seemed to be the rule of the day for both Esc1 and
Esc5. We took off at full strength but at rendevous point we had been reduced to only 4 craft.
We spotted 4 unknown con low and assumed they were enemy and we had good alt on them. However, we were not in a
position to execute an attack and so we moved on.
We lost our flight lead and he had to return home as well and the three of us continued on patrol. We spotted a large
foramtion of EA both high and low and after some close chases and cat and mouse headed for home. Not long after, I spotted
a lone enemy scout and the fight was on. He put up a galant fight but in the end he decided to fight another day and dove
for the deck with the three of us hot on his tail. He plane was shot to pieces but he managed to land on his side of the
lines.
At home drome we regrouped and passed the word where the enemy contacts were and headed off. I became separated from
my group and no matter how hard I tried I could reaquire them. I decided to CAP some enemy dromes and soon spotted two
EA low. I dove on one of them and fired rounds into him and he dove for his drome and landed safely there. His partner
did as well.
I put on an aireal show for them and fired off two flares and headed for home. My timing couldn't have been more
perfect because I soon spotted several EA diving on me. I didn't worry though because I knew my Spad would carry me
safely away.
I landed at home base and went to town to have some beers on the chaps!

narrative: took off on my recon mission got 11 targets recon. Didn't see any Huns just flak over some places and it
was one long one over a hr and 15 mins it was nice to get back to base for a beer or 2 while I waited to how today went.
