Claims: Hun #14 a few rounds into either #6 or #8 not sure it happened fast pluse I gave that black and white plane a
real great burst If he crashed I will claim at least part due to the fact I stalled doing it
narrative: The first sorty went bad for my wingy ,, It seemed he was ganged up on. I saw at least 4 huns on his 6 till
he dove away .... I stayed with him but he was hard to see in the Mud. I then noticed tracers by him and dove in .. I
could not seem to gain any ground on him ,,, I started to fire at him from a long ways away,, trying to get him to turn
around.
Fergie turned him around instead and I got a good burst into hun #14. I made a pass then turned and we where in a
head on I made it and he crashed ,,,, It was a coll that took him out I just help him a little .... I covered Fergie
till we landed and then the rest showed Up . Looked like we lost Kess on the first sorty.
The secound sorty was more of a trap We were over a hun Base and spotted planes low..... Fergie was kinda bait or so
,,, he dove on this hun that I figure was also bait.. (everone was fishing tonight).. I dove closer to fergies fight
and was watching him take it to this Hun ,, When all at once it seemed to go wrong He had a nother Hun on his 6 It
looked Like a Number 12 on him so I dove in got a few rounds into Hun #12 and I think #8 I took a bad Hit and saw what
mite of been Fergie flame. I had what seemed to be a pair Of Huns on my 6 .. I pulled Up and was able to give #12 a great
hit on his under side, but I held it to long and stalled for a second and when I recovered I had another one my 6.....
I took several hits and had to land. #6 did the final damage and forced me down

narrative: Esc1 and 5 met up at rendevous point with b/R and proceeded over the mud. We had 6 fighters, 3 spads, 2 HD1,
and one 17. Halfway over the mud McQ siganled a sighting. Looking behind me I saw several cons lower than us. We turned
back for them and circled over for a bit. I could count at least 7 huns.
Waiting for us to form up a bit more before I diving in, i began hearing gunfire. One spad had began attacking one of
the huns. 3-4 other huns quickly began heading for him. With that we all dove in. I picked out #12 and began peppering
him. I made one pass and pulled away as he began turning back for me. I spotted #10 in front of me peppering a Belgian.
I opened up on him and seconds later he pulled up slightly and his lower right wing pulled off. I put more rounds into
him as I went by. I began making a turn to come back around on him when I began taking fire from hun #8. I was forced to
break off and get some separation from him.
I pulled back around once he had broken off. Amazingly the sky over the mud was empty of planes where once it had been
full of machines chattering away. I spotted maybe 2000 meters above and near the other side of nml two dots. As I got
closer I could see 1 hun and 1 of our planes. I climbed and climbed as I watched the two battle. Eventually I got close
enough to fire on #9. I was hopefull we could tag team this hun, but as he drove me off with with a few shots I could
see 3 more huns coming to his rescue. I signaled to Rogier to rtb.
Second patrol we had four planes after losing Rogier to engine trouble. Over Base 19 Fergie spotted a plane low. He
dove in to check it out and began firing. I stayed up high to check for more cons. I noticed the fight wasn't going his
way though. I dove in to find #8 peppering Fergie. I opened up as best I could. It was all I could do to slowup enough
to stay on 8's tail and my one gun wasn't doing much damage. He eventually was aware I was there and broke off long
enough to free Fergie up. Ferg got around on 8 and began opening up on him. At this time our #3 joined in as well. I was
going to help them when I spotted at least 3 dots moving in.
I was out of signal range, but fired several flares to get my mates attention. I doubt they saw them though. Suddenly
at least 3 huns were in on us. I took fire from one and dove away. I climbed back up and tried to help as best I could.
Unfortunately we were now directly over the hun field. I saw Fergie pile in on the field below. Hun #8 had been forced
down by Fergie and our #3. I put a few more rounds into him to make sure.
I extended away from the field and turned back. I had took quite a beating from the aa guns, but saw #3 was in trouble.
I turned back and flew low over the field. Putting rounds in #6 as he was forcing down our #3. I then took fire from 2-3
huns as I extended away for home. My rudder was shot to pieces and my compass was broke.
After landing at a nearby base for ammo and repairs McQ and I took off again. Halfway over the mud near base 19 we had
contacts. I heard them before I saw them. Looking back I could see two moving in behind us. I signaled to McQ and began
diving just as 12 began opening up on me. I took several good hits from close range, but came through it ok. 12 turned
back and locked onto McQ. I got around quickly and was behind 12 all the time, peppering him as he raked McQ with bullets.
My one-gun Spad sucks though. Fortunatley McQ managed to break away and make it back home. I pulled away and tried to
climb above them with no luck. I soon saw them disappear in the distance. I tried following, but couldn't pick them back
up. I headed back to 10 and ended the day.

narrative: During the first patrol, our flight came across several V-strutters. I got a few rounds in couple of them,
but without effect. I believe our #20 downed #10 and #13, while #3 downed #14. I think we lost two from Esc1. #15 and I
were starting to work on #9 when his help arrived and we decided to clear. We returned to base and joined the rest of the
flight there. We started our second patrol, but after a few minutes, I returned to base with engine problems.
After fixing the problem, I tried to regain contact with my flight. I changed my mind and decided to cover our northern
targets. I figured I would fly low and maybe surprize a B/R. When I arrived at Dunkerque, sirens were blaring and I
spotted our Archie and a Hun 2-seater. He was higher, but I soon climbed up to him. His rear gunner was quite experienced
and popped me several times. I peppered him pretty well, with numerous hits, but nothing vital except I killed the rear
gunner.
Unfortunately, the pilot was able to reach around and still fire the rear gun. I shot most of his tail away, but could
not get a good hit on the pilot, fuel or the engine. I ran out of ammo and could only hope that maybe he would catch fire,
but no joy. We waved to one another and saluted as we separated over the lines and I returned to base. Dang was he lucky
or was I just a rotten shot?

Claims: German 10 and 13
narrative: Mission 1:
Lots of cloud cover today as we headed to rendevous with R/B. We meet at gathering point and headed in. Just past the
front lines several contacts were spotted low behind us and closing. We circled and regrouped and then the fight was on.
It was a twisting, turning, battle with both sides evenly matched. We used the speed of the Spads to keep the enemy
formations from grouping and the turn capabilites of the HD1 and N17 to get in close.
I lost contact with my flight and proceeded to circle looking for straglers or enemy attempting to break off and flea.
I was rewarded with two targets perfectly lined up for my attack. I spotted an Alb losing alt but was unsure of his
intention. I dove in and fired a stream of hot lead into the craft and as I drew nearer I saw that it was beginning to
twist and turn in a death spiral so broke off my attack. (no message came up on #13). I then proceeded to continue my
dive towards my other target. I drew closer and spotted he had sever wing damage and was attempting to land at his drome.
I showed no mercy to him and poured a long burst into his fuselage. He broke left and I circled around and fired again.
On his next break the damage was done and he plowed into the ground. (20 downed 10) By this time I had 3 angry German
fliers on my tail and it was close but I managed to escape across my lines and we regrouped to plan our next attack.
We were saddend to not see #4 return and later learned he had fallen at the onset.
Mission 2:
Headed back to do a barrage patrol and check out an enemy drome that wa reported to have some air activity. We soon
spotted a lone Albatross and 5 and 3 dove in. To our horror it was soon discovered that he wasn't really alone. He dove
to the safety of his base and 5 and 3 were to low and they were attacked by more enemy scouts. 15 dove on them to try
and break off the attack but it was to late. I was engaged with two enemy scouts high and couldn't help. At our rally
point there was just 2 of us that made it. We had lost the hero of belgium, Sous Ltn. Fergie. My lead and I went home
and rearmned and refueled.
Mission 3:
Took off and just at the front we were attacked buy a small flight of German aircraft. They came out of the clouds and
I barely had a chance to dive under them and fleee back to the safety of my lines. I managed to get low enough to to
achieve more RPM and I crouched low in my cockpit as the bullets rained in on me. They broke off the attack and I headed
for home and decieded enough was enough and turned in for the day.
