narrative: First sortie in this...
Got signals crossed, took off from wrong drome, started in wrong plane after being told to change number from previous mailed orders. Linked up with Jasta over XXXXX. Continued with them till first mech. Reupped after logging back in. (net connection reset...) Wound up taking off from wrong base again, finaly linked up with with Jasta again... patrolled around for a while without signting any enemy aircraft, then meched once more... Called it a night after that.
(Fictional Acct. follows...)
Journal Entry:
First sortie today with Jasta 18. It got off to an inauspicious start when the engine refused to catch despite the frantic efforts of myself and the ground crew. Finaly got it started and took off to try to link up with them. After a rather long bit of flying around, spotting only a pair of Rumplers, I finaly blundered across them. This was fine untill my engine began to run rough, then sputter to a stop. I glided down, and was able to land safely. The problem was a clogged fuel line. I remidied this as best I could, comandeered a pair of infantrymen to swing the propeller and off I set again.
Once more I was climbing like a madman, scanning the skies looking for something. All I spotted before finding my Jasta again was a pair of Avaitiks. I thought of trying to escort them, but being new, would probably have been more a hinderance to them than a protector...
At last I found my Jasta again, and continued to patrol with them untill the engine cut out once more... Yet again I had the dicey proposition of gliding to a safe landing. This time whatever was wrong with the powerplant was beyond my megar mechanical skills, and I had to telephone the aerodrome to send mechanics out.
In the meantime I had to protect my mount from over curious foot soldiers.
Not a thrilling beginning to my flying career... Still, it could have been worse... I could have encountered a Belgian Escridrille while swaning about alone.

narrative: took off with my SQ. flew our assigned sector till I netted. rejoinned game at closest drome to where I meched. met up with J27 and a bmr SQ. Flew with them on there mission. Close to our drome we picked up 3 EA high above. we circled till they attacked. got a few rounds into a spad when i found myself on a collision course with a HD2 I think. I tried to avoid him but it was too late he took off a piece of my lower left wing and I started a long tumble to earth. I was able to pull out of the fall close to the ground and found a SPAD closing in on me. I landed as the SPAD made 1 straffing pass. He flew off so I took off and headed for the closest drome only to have him and his winggies chase me all the way to the drome. I landed there and hopped in another plane and took off. They had left the area so I landed again at the drome. I was lucky again!

narrative: Got in a skirmish with 2 allies. I had a beat on #20 so I turned to face him. He saw me and angled towards me as well. I didn't like the course I was on so I turned hard right and dove down. But as I was turned around my crate exploded into pieces. Didn't take a genious to know I had been hit by the enemy plane. Apparently his was unscathed on this occasion. I was left to debate my death on a 4000m death spin which was impossible to pull out of. The only thing I could hope for was a flat landing that somehow spared my life. Well, if your reading this letter which I wrote during my freefall to death then I didn't have a pleasant landing. S! to all, and all a Goodnight!

narrative: Flew CAP and encountered a flight of nmes with a big alt advantage. Two of our flight were downed before the nme withdrew. Later flight we encountered another flight of Allied scouts with a big alt advantage. My plane took heavy damage in the tail section so I disengaged and ran like hell. I landed safely at a Hun drome. Alas poor Uhlan didn't fare as well.

narrative: Patrolled with flight until AA fire showed enemy ahead near Roulers. Made out 5 or 6 contacts, two very low passed under me and I saw one was an RE8. Engaged a Hanriot #10 and a SPAD. Saw another SPAD #20 and a Nieuport 17 #11. #11 chased CO to drome at Roulers, but with EA close up high I elected to stay up. Lost track of Spatz and Marko by this time. Saw Pendragon crash under the Neiuport's guns. Lost track of the Nieuport and hi EA scatted in every direction. Dropped lower to seek out the Nieuport but only found FA5b landed at Roulers and Spatz circling the field. Marko was never seen again, nor did we find the wreckage of his aeroplane.
After rearming and refueling, we took off to escort FA5 on a recon mission. Gewin of Jasta 18 fell in with our flight which was uneventful though tense. Several contacts were spotted but none close enough to ID. As we overflew FA5b's landing at Roulers we contacted 3 EA and after some sizing up they dove in. After popping a few shots into Nieuport #11 to get him off Spatz's tail, he and I became entangled in a long dance I was loosing. I lost track of my friends and soon both other Belgians (HD1 #10 and S7 #16) joined #11 on me! I tried to work my way to Roulers drome but my entire elevator was shot off and I tumbled to my death.

narrative: Sortie 1:
Went pretty smoothly for about an hour when returning to base we spotted a couple of EA's in battle with one of our Jasta's. A few seconds later a SPAD flew right past me (I think he was escaping) however being in a slow moving bomber I decided to put down before I was "put" down. I landed and while coasting to a stop I spotted #15's aircraft destroyed on our runway. I grabbed the nearest wine bottle "Tapped the cap" and "Poured one for my homie". May he rest in peace, or should i say in pieces be cause his plane was all over the place. S! #16
Sortie 2:
went on recon of the lines took a few pictures but nothin major to report. Then upon returning to base the sirens and flack guns were firing but I was unable to find the enemy craft. I landed and exited.
Personal Note: I am going to beat the hell out of my Film loader. Seems he installed the wrong type of film, didnt set it up correctly, and therefore no pictures were taken.
