Arrived to plane late, darn daylight savings time. Joined Dawson and Fuches and went to look for enemy bombers in b2 section. Kept hearing sirens, but never could find an enemy plane. Headed farther south, and noticed a bomber dropping bombs over the railyard(i think) in C3. We flew right up on his tail feathers and waited to fire until last minute. He must of saw us right before we fired. He did a good job using different speeds and ground running to try to get away. Finially he caught on fire and i was meched out.
Meet up with Flint and we patrolled hunland. Right at the end of session Flint signaled he saw an enemy. As I was diving behind him my screen flashed green then blue then I totally froze. Had to restart computer. I was done for the night.
Took off with the 76th,split in to 2 flights. Roberts and I capped as per our orders.Roberts had to rtb because of engine problems. I heard the AA batteries going off over the RR , saw 1 bomber and dove on him.As I looked around to see if he had any friends Roberts came out of the blue and we quickly took # 7 down..For a minute I thought that Roberts was the bombers escort lining up to shoot me down.Roberts scared the dickens out of me!!!!! We continued our patrol until I ran low on fuel and landed at base # XX to refuel . I was forced to retire for the night due to that damn engine problem (work).

Dawson(3), Flint (9), Gun Jones(5) and myself (4) left the grassy runway at 9:05 pm. We headed east to try our luck at drome xx. As luck would have it, we encountered #16, at least that is who I saw. After a bit of tag, 16 was on my tail until Dawson showed him a few lead bullets. Sixteen banked to attack Dawson, and I then banked to get a few shots in on 16's tail. Sixteen turned around and approached me and we started shooting, getting closer, I pulled up, he scraped under my wheels. He then proceeded to crash. I checked for damage, nothing. I then sighted hudson and we headed for our base for repairs. After landing we again took off with Hudson but headed south to check out our targets and make sure they were clean. After a while we heard the bells ringing and the sirens go off. We circled the area for five or ten minutes waiting for anyone to approach. No one showed up we then proceeded west, and then backtracked. I sighted a hun dropping some bombs and noticed I wasn't the only one. We approached #6 and Dawson, Hudson and myself proceeded to fill his clothe with lead. Number 15 allied also joined in the attack. I pulled away thinking three people shouldn't have any difficulty downing this hun. Luckily I did do that, as I noticed #6 starting to flame. I yelled "flame" but it was too late. I returned to base solo.
After fueling, Gun Jones (5) landed. I waited for him to top up and we both proceeded to fly south to the next base and then head west. The last leg of the flight was uneventful. Game was called and I landed.
After some delay due to chaplain duties as assigned by The Commander In Chief of His Army I was able to enter the cockpit of my able bomber along with my trusty gunner mate. Flying from my drome we achieve a cruise altitude where we settled in for the long flight to penetrate deep into enemy territory. Other than the magnificent view and the cries of sirens and alarms as well as that ever annoying flak, the flight was uneventful until we got to target. After multiple passes at an altitude safe above the machine gun fire, several well placed bombs found their target as my gunner and I observed flames spouting from several buildings.(this was later confirmend by one of our secret agents who observed the factory and reported that two buildings were indeed burning causing considerable damage to the valuable contents of the factory). An uneventful return trip brought us safely to our drome where we caught a ride on a staff car which brought us home to our lover's arms safely within friendly territory.
Sir,
Took off from home base "xx" with Unclesam (pilot#15). Proceeded directly to base "#xx" in hopes of intercepting incoming Huns. As we arrived near that base I signaled to #15 to follow several times. He appeared to continue East into Hun territory. I again signaled for him to follow several times. He apparently did not see my signals. I looked around for him but he was out of my sight by then. I circled the area where I last saw him for a few minutes, hoping to regroup with him. My planed meched out and I was forced to RTB.
Took off from home base again, alone this time. I was hoping that Sam was doing well and wanted to try to find him again. Shortly after take-off, sirens started blaring from home base. I searched frantically around to no avail. Checked likely targets in my area and they appeared safe. Proceeded to base "#8" to see if there were sirens there as well. (maybe hun trying to sneak in between the 2 bases?) I heard sirens as I approached that base as well. Proceeded to tour the area near there and just as I caught sight of a plane close to base "#8", I meched out again. I was unable to determine if it was a Hun plane or not.
Meched out as I was taking off from home base. Barely got off ground. :-(
Tried again. Took off from home base and checked general area for anything. Seeing nothing, I decided to return to the area of base "#8" and try to establish contact with anyone. I was getting tired of flying alone. I wanted a fight or company of friends. As I approached that base, again I heard sirens blaring. As I was patroling the area searching for Huns, I meched out yet AGAIN.
Shortly after take-off from home base I saw Sam leaving runway. We managed to hook up and I proceeded to follow him. After a short time, it appeared the we both meched out. (I saw his plane freeze in mid-air, shortly thereafter I meched too)
Getting frustrated at this point. As I was sitting stationary on home-base runway, I observed a plane coming in for a landing at our base. I signaled a "S!" to him via "visible team chat" with no reply, even after he was at a complete stop on the runway. He was at the far end of the runway so I was unable to determine exactly who it was. From what I could see though, it did not appear to be an Allied plane. I started my engines to move in for a closer look. I was airborn and proceeded to circle around to check on this mysterious arrival. The NERVE of the man to land on my field!!!!! As I drew closer, I observed that plane (which was stationary on the ground) self-destruct!!! The coward dropped a bomb under his own plane rather than engage me!! (15 has left the game, then appeared on my screen)
I proceeded to patrol the area over mud in hopes of catching a Hun heading home but meched out yet AGAIN. Throwing my hands up in despair and cussing profusely, I decided to call it a night.
Any rumors you may hear of an Allied mechanic in the hospital due to severe blunt head trauma are entirely true!
Took off with Dawson#3, Fuches#4, and Gun Jones#5. We headed out for another raid on drome 20, reaching it very quickly. I scanned about with my new and improved vision. I saw nothing and drome xx appeared empty. I began to head to the SE towards drome xx in hopes of finding Austrians there. Just as I made my turn I developed engine troubles and had to RTB.
After I had my problem fixed I decided to patrol northern targets on my own, thinking the Austrian bombers had already escaped us. I patrolled for around an hour and saw nothing. Northern targets were not touched the whole time. As I headed into a base for fuel I developed engine troubles again and once again had to RTB.
As I got my plane ready at the drome i spotted Hudson#8 taking off. He circled the drome to wait for me and we both went out on patrol. We flew over several Austrian targets and dromes looking for fighters on CAP duty.
Finally over drome xx I spotted two very high contacts. I at first thought they were fellow spads on patrol, but I soon identified one as Austrian. We circled them at a distance and began to climb. I hoped they hadn't spotted us yet because we were in bad shape altitude wise. It appeared they didn't because they continued on to the south and we kept our distance as Hud and I continued to climb to get above them.
Soon only 1 Austrian plane was in view and he began diving. I gave the attack order and we went down after him. I hadn't realized we were near an Austrian drome(#18) till I began my dive. I quickly realized he was attempting to land and I could make out his partner already on the field. I pointed my nose for him and reminded myself to cut throttle before I pulled out. I reached him when he was maybe 50 yards from his field. I opened up on him getting several rounds into his plane before the speed of my dive made me overshoot him. I was surprised for a moment that Alb#12 wasn't following after me. He still continued on to land his plane, probably not eager to take on an uncertain number of Spads. I turned back for him and strafed his plane on the field and then watch the ground crew run out after my pass and wheel his plane into the hanger(exit).
I saw no other Austrian planes in the area and Hud had vanished as well. It was getting late at this time and I decided to return home.
We took off with Flint leading GunJones, Fuches and myself toward drome ## hoping to catch some unwary enemy with his pants down. Just as we reached the target we lost Flint to a mech. We continued looking for enemy A/C albeit without Flint's piercing vision. I saw one plane flying low over the drome but Fuches later said that was GJ down wrecking havoc among the Austrians. Suddenly I was aware of an enemy A/C #16 and began making passes at him with Fuches. GJ seemed to have gotten lost just when we could have used his great shooting ability. Finally Fuches was able to bring down the enemy plane and we returned to base to refuel and rearm.
At the base Hudson joined us and we made a sweep south looking for enemy bombers. After a good bit of looking we came upon a lone E/A #6. He must have uttered a big Austrian "oh shit" when he saw three Spads diving at him joined by another allied flyer who happened along. So many people were putting lead into this hapless fellow that when he finally flamed and crashed I had no idea who had caused his demise. The flame seemed to cause the sudden disappearance of many of my fellow flyers so I made my way back to the base running along the mud hoping to glimpse a returning enemy bomber. All I saw was Flint dive down briefly on my six, apparently a reminder to keep my eyes open when flying alone.
Arrived at the drome after squad had taken off. I commenced to CAP our targets in sectors XX X and XX X. I took the Hanriot up to XXXX to get some height and get a good scan over our area. After several minutes on patrol, I made the decision to cross over the lines alone and look for EA at drome#14.
I circled for a few minutes as the flak from the ground gunners were peppering the sky. I didn't want to hang around too long solo, so I headed back to our side and continued on CAP. It was a routine quite patrol where you can enjoy the sky and clouds.
I again returned to scout the area around drome #14 after the second CAP. Still no activity, save for the Flak. After an hour or so, I returned to our home field without any contact or incident.
Took off from designated drome with #14, entered Hun territory, #14 had engine trouble and was forced to RTB. With my wing mate gone and in unfriendly territory, I proceeded back to CAP a friendly Depot and Railyard. Landed to refuel after a bit and met up with #12 at the drome. Proceeded back to CAP area with #12. Saw flak over ground target, went to investigate and found tracers. There I found SPADs engaging Hun #6 who was apparently on a bombing mission. I unloaded my guns on #6, and then went to look for a place to reload. #6 was flamed by #5 (I believe), I then suffered engine trouble (flame mech) and had to RTB. After a few kicks to the engine from the ground crew and myself, I was back in the air and winged up with #14 again. Apparently, some wise cracker decided to put rice in the gas tanks of our drome or something, because #14 then suffered engine trouble again. With it getting late, I decided to park at my drome (which was a quick step away) and call it quits.
