Nieuport 28 for Red Baron 3D Still competing with SPAD, Nieuport eventually moved away from the sesquiplane and V strut layout that was the hallmark of the company. The rotary powered Nieuport 28 was rejected by the French service in favor of the inline powered SPAD 13, but it saw service with the air services of Argentina, Greece, Guatemala, Switzerland, and the United States for which it is best known. This model is my first to be fully measured. From wingspan to guns, every part was measured from the plan, adjusted to scale, and precisly placed. The fus bmp does not require a cockpit to be represented. Most existing paint schemes will look ok with it, but some tweaking can make a big difference. Wings, elevators, etc would do better with a 2 pixel black boarder around them - ie: don't take the color right to the edge. As with all my models, so far, the upper left most pixel of the fus bmp will determine the color of the cabane struts, landing gear struts, and elevator struts.
