Nieuport 28
Loosing the competition with the SPADs, the 28 was used as a stopgap aircraft by American pursuit squadrons when they first arrived in France. Fast and manueverable, it was also fragile, with a tendenct to shed fabric from the top wing in a dive. It saw limited action and was soon replaced by SPAD XIIIs.
